Who We Are
BBSM Group is a diversified Nepali business house, built over decades from a single venture into a family of companies working across retail, manufacturing, construction materials, and services.
What connects them is not a sector but an approach: invest in Nepal, build for the long term, and hold every company in the group to the same standard of quality, fair dealing, and service to the customer.
Kathmandu Steel carries that standard into steel manufacturing, supplying reinforcement bar to work that ranges from single family homes to hydropower and national infrastructure.
Message from the Chairman
Every business in this group started the same way: by asking what Nepal needed and whether we could make it better, more reliable, or more affordable than what was already available.
Steel is no different. A reinforcement bar is hidden inside the concrete for the life of a building. Nobody sees it, and nobody can inspect it once the pour is done. That is exactly why it has to be right. The family building a home and the engineer signing off on a bridge are both trusting a product they will never lay eyes on again.
That trust is the only asset worth protecting. It is why we invest in the plant, in testing, and above all in the people who run them. It is why we would rather turn away an order than ship steel we would not use in our own building.
